To add items to the clinical chart: type item search keywords at the top of the web chart or the Palm chart, then click the keywords button or press enter to display the results list.
The results list sorts by rank so the above example shows medrol dose pack is prescribed more often than hycodan, which is prescribed more than rynatan, etc.
To perform a new search: enter new item search keywords and click the keywords button or press enter.
Return to clinical chart
To return to the patient's clinical chart: press enter or click the keywords button without typing any keywords (leave keywords field blank). Doing this reloads the clinical chart. Clicking the browser's back button backs up to the previously viewed clinical chart. Important: if items have been added, then the previous chart is outdated and will not show the new items since it arrived prior to addition.
Conceptually, reloading is a forward browser movement, while the back button is a backward browser movement. The best use of the back button is to discard a page that was not intended (ex: on results list accidentally clicked on wrong medicine).
Single item selection
To add a single item from the results list: click on the desired item, or use the up and down arrow keys to highlight an item and press enter. One input window will be displayed.
